Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The College recognises the prior educational and relevant professional achievements of prospective learners. Recognition including Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process for giving prospective students credit for skills, knowledge and experience gained through working and learning. Such learning can be gained at any stage of their lives, through formal and informal learning, in Australia or overseas. Credit can reduce the amount of study needed to complete a degree.
Formal learning can include previous study in higher education, vocational education, or adult and community education. Informal learning can include on-the-job learning or various kinds of work and life experience.
The College is committed to providing fair, transparent and inclusive recognition of previous learning and experiences.
Applications should occur prior to or just after formal enrolment at the Institute, but in all cases, prior to the delivery of units. This is to avoid disruption to the student’s study in the event their application is rejected.
Evaluation of an application will be undertaken by a qualified member of our academic staff under the supervision of the Head of Faculty.
International students who are granted RPL that leads to a reduction in the overall course duration will have this result reported in PRISMS and will be issued with the appropriate eCoE (Electronic Conformation of Enrolment).
A maximum of 72 Credit Points (i.e., 12 units) will be granted as Credit and/or RPL.
