Course Load & Transfer Policy
Students enrolled in a course are required to complete the course in the allotted duration or earlier. International students have further obligations that relate to course duration, study load and transfer between providers. These factors are impacted by any Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or credit granted to the student. The college is required to ensure that students adhere to their course duration and study load requirements and that a systematic approach to RPL is adopted when assessing RPL applications by students.
The purpose of this policy and procedure is to describe the requirements of study load and course duration on students to allow nominated college staff to appropriately discharge their duties in this regard. This policy ensures that the Sydney Met does not enrol any transferring international student prior to 6 months of their principal course being completed, unless that student has a valid letter of release agreeing to such a transfer, or if other specific conditions are met.Course Load and Transfer Policy
