Welcome to our Department of ITE.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Information Technology. All our courses are accredited by Australian government agency, TEQSA (Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency) and is consistent with the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework). If you’re a graduate looking to specialise in a highly sought-after area of IT, change careers or expand your knowledge in Information Technology, our courses are for you! Our qualifications will equip students with the technical skills and knowledge combined with interpersonal and intercultural skills so students can advance their career in a range of positions in the IT industry.

Our courses are designed for people with IT background as well as for people with little or no background in IT. Our courses have a strong technical focus that will open doors to advancing your career in this rapidly evolving industry—whether you are new to the sector or wish to refresh your skills to get ahead. Industry leaders teach the course, so you get the skills and knowledge to advance your technical career. The information technology sector offers strong employment prospects to people with appropriate skills and qualifications. To work in this dynamic and complex industry, students refresh their knowledge to keep pace with change. In our courses, students will develop foundational IT skills with our hands-on units and tailor their studies to meet their career and professional development goals. Specially, students will develop and extend their foundational IT skills and knowledge in cyber security, AI, and database development to ensure they can add maximum value in the workplace.

Our Department of ITE has an active program of curriculum review, improvement, and innovation to continuously improve the student experience and to increase opportunities for students, including postgraduate degrees currently in development, to further meet the needs of current and prospective students.

We also offer Graduate Certificate, leading to Graduate Diploma and then to Master of IT. These articulated programs allow students to build on their studies to achieve the right level of qualification for them. Successful completion of this course provides a pathway to the Master’s program, with credit for all subjects completed during this course.

All our courses are regulated by in the Australian education system. This means that Sydney Met is recognised as providing its students with quality education for the courses on offer in line with Australia’s Higher Education Standards.
