Sydney Met has a robust, four-tier governance system.
The Sydney Met Constitution confirms that a corporate governing body, the Governing Council (GC), has been appointed to govern Sydney Met by a delegation from the Board of Directors (BoD). The Board of Directors (BoD) has appointed a Governing Council (GC) through an Instrument of Appointment, giving it responsibility for governance. The GC reports to the Sydney Met BoD on the status of the College through the GC Chair. The GC has established an Academic Board (AB) to which the GC delegates responsibility and powers for academic matters. The GC has appointed a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), also known as Principal Executive Officer (PEO) as the executive head of the Executive Management. The authority for their establishment, functions, and relationship can be found in the Sydney Met Constitution and Governance Charters.
The Sydney Met Governance Framework
Sydney Met's campus is located on the unceded territory of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, who are the traditional owners of the land where the campus is situated. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging. We extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia and Indigenous peoples globally who are presently studying, working, or contributing to Sydney Met.
