Academic Board

The Academic Board (AB) is the academic governing body at Sydney Met, reporting to the Governance Council (GC) through its Chair. It is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the Institute’s academic activities and for advising the GC on academic matters. The AB holds delegated powers and responsibilities across a range of academic functions, including course development, accreditation, teaching and learning, benchmarking, academic quality assurance, academic integrity, and academic risk management. Operating independently from the GC, the AB ensures its advice on academic issues remains objective and well-informed. To support its work, the AB has standing committees, subcommittees, and working groups as needed.
