Associate Professor Javad Rezazadeh is the Associate Dean (Teaching and Scholarship) at Sydney Met, providing academic leadership in teaching quality, curriculum development, academic governance, quality assurance, professional accreditation, and student success initiatives. He brings over 20 years of academic experience across different countries, having served in senior academic leadership roles including Department Manager, Deputy Head of School, Course and Unit Coordinator, postgraduate supervisor, and lecturer.
Associate Prof. Javad was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, between 2016 and 2021. He holds a PhD in Wireless Communications which received the Academic Excellent Student Award as the top postgraduate student in 2014 and received his M.S. and B.S. degrees in Software Engineering in 2008 and 2005, respectively. He was honoured with the Teaching Excellence Award for two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023, from Victoria University Sydney, an IEEE Best Paper Award in 2011, and a Gold Medal for an international exhibition in 2013, Malaysia.
He has great scholarly activity with h-index of 25 on Google Scholar and over 3,400 citations. His research interests include localization systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), ML, and smart cities.
